Going Back

I am a child of two cultures.

I was born in the suburbs of Brisbane, Australia and moved to America at the age of 8 years old with my Mother and 2 older brothers. Through the years of having an Australian mother and an American step father, I have retained some of my original culture but I am definitely an Americanized woman.

But now, it’s time to go back. Time to discover my roots, and experience the culture that I only have a distant memory of.

It’s time to go home.

Starting January 1st, 2017, I will be living on the Gold Coast in Brisbane, Australia for 4 months. While in Australia, I will be documenting my experiences, sharing my thoughts and feelings about living in a society that I haven’t lived in since I was a child.

Most importantly, I want to have fun. To smile, laugh until I cry, take chances (some that may have only seemed like good ideas at the time),and make memories.

It’s time for the journey of a lifetime.
